The Honest Bit

Affiliate disclosure

Plain English, no small print. This is how this site makes money, and why that never changes a verdict.

Some links here are affiliate links

Worth It After 40 takes part in affiliate programmes, including Amazon Associates and TikTok Shop. That means some of the “Check Price”, “Buy / View Product” and similar links on this site are affiliate links.

If you click one and buy something, I may earn a small commission. It costs you nothing extra — the price is identical whether you use my link or find the product yourself.

Why the reviews stay honest anyway

The entire point of this site is that the verdicts can be trusted. So:

  • Every product gets one of three honest verdicts: ✔ Worth It ? Maybe ✖ Bin It
  • Products rated Bin It get a full review telling you not to buy them — commission or no commission.
  • Commission rates never influence which verdict a product gets. A brilliant cheap product beats a mediocre expensive one every time.
  • If a product was sent free by a brand, the review says so. Free products get the same testing and the same three possible verdicts.
  • No fake countdown timers, no “only 3 left!” pressure, no invented discounts. Ever.

Where you'll see disclosures

Every product review page carries a disclosure next to the buy buttons, and this page is linked in the footer of every page on the site. If you ever spot a page where that's missing, tell me and I'll fix it.

The short version

Affiliate links fund the testing. Honesty is the product. If the verdicts ever stopped being straight, this site would be worthless — to you and to me.
