14-in-1 Vegetable Chopper

★★★★★ 3/5 Home Gadgets Around £20

The TikTok-famous chopper box with swappable blades that claims to replace half your knife drawer. It's really an onion dicer with accessories.

✔ Get it if: If you cook most nights and hate dicing onions — or chopping is getting harder on your hands and wrists.
✖ Skip it if: If you're short on cupboard space or already quick with a knife, skip it.

👍 What’s good

  • Onion dicing is genuinely fast and tear-free
  • Good for anyone with arthritis or weaker grip
  • Container catches everything — no rolling veg

👎 What’s not

  • Most of the 14 blades will never leave the box
  • Fiddly to wash properly between the blade grid
  • Soft tomatoes turn to mush

What it claims to do

It claims to be 14 tools in one — dicer, slicer, julienne, grater, egg separator and more — replacing your knife work entirely.

What happened when I tested it

Used it for a fortnight of proper cooking: chilli, curry, soups, salads. The dicer blade came out nearly every night. The other blades came out once each, for this review, then went back in the box.

📋 Test notes: 14 days of daily cooking. Dicer blade used 11 times, all others once. Cleaning takes 2–3 minutes each use.

What I liked

One press and an onion is diced, no tears, straight into the container. For stews and curries that's a real time-saver. Grip-wise it needs far less hand strength than knife work.

What I didn’t like

Washing it. Bits of onion lodge in the blade grid every time. And "14-in-1" is marketing nonsense — it's a 2-in-1 you'll actually use.

Price & value

Fair at £20 if you'll use the dicer regularly. There's no reason to pay more for bigger blade bundles.

Worth it or bin it?

Maybe. As a £20 onion dicer for people who cook a lot, decent. As the 14-in-1 kitchen revolution TikTok sells it as, no.
